On the roof of the W Hotel. The food is fine but overpriced. BUT the view of DC is really cool and it's a fun place to hang out and get a drink. Great place to bring visitors to DC. Don't go on a weekend night though - it's not as fun when it's crowded and you can't spread out on the comfy sofas and chairs.

2 Bombay Club
815 Connecticut Ave., Washington, DCAbout equal with Rasika in terms of taste, but this place feels more old-fashioned and traditional. Has an all you can eat and all you can drink champagne brunch on Sunday that is excellent and a great deal. Large outdoor seating area.
3 Rasika
633 D Street, Washington, DCVery nice place - on the fancier, expensive side. The food is excellent - every single dish. Taste is about equal with Bombay Club, but this place has a more modern, chic feel to it.
4 Corduroy
1122 Ninth Street, Washington, DCAbsolutely excellent food. Quieter, very upscale atmosphere in a house like setting. Expensive.
5 Cava Mezze - DC
527 8th Street SE, Washington, DCAwesome happy hour specials on wine, beer and small plates - it's something like $4 drinks and $3 small plates from 4-7 at the bar on weekdays. Small plates are great - hummus is some of the best I've had. Cave-like atmosphere - dark and candlelit.
6 The Oval Room
800 Connecticut Avenue, Washington, DCI've only been for restaurant week but everything was excellent. Great service and great deal for restaurant week compared to other restaurants of its caliber. On the expensive end. Very quiet, refined atmosphere.
7 Restaurant Nora
2132 Florida Ave., Washington, DCVery elegant place - artfully decorated. The food is extremely good American - all organic. Extensive organic wine list.
8 RedRocks Firebrick Pizzeria $$ Pizza
1036 Park Rd NW, Washington, DCOne of my absolute favorites. Top three pizza places in DC and has the best outdoor atmosphere of the three. It's in a laid back neighborhood just down the street from Wonderland Ballroom. Has a hipstery feel. Picnic tables and a good beer list.
9 Coppi's Organic $$ Italian
1414 U Street NW, Washington, DCGreat Italian place. Very small and comfortable, especially on a cold or rainy night. Intimate bar at the back of the restaurant and candle-lit booths line the narrow room. Interesting selection of appetizers and wines and mouth watering pasta and pizza. Owners and servers always very friendly.
10 Montmartre $$ French
327 7th St SE, Washington, DCOne of the best on Capitol Hill for a nice meal. Small and bustling on the weekends, a bit quieter on weekdays. There is room for two at their very tiny but pleasant bar at the front of the restaurant. Interesting and different specials every time you go.
